To guarantee your spot, we strongly advise pre-booking your session in advance. These sessions are incredibly popular and often reach full capacity.

Ice skating runs day and night. Sessions operate every hour between 9am - 9pm (last session starts at 8pm).

Ticket Prices

  • Adult (15+) - $15 per person
  • Children (6-14 yrs) - $12 per person
  • Toddler (3-5 yrs) - $8 per person (includes Skating Aid required for all skaters aged 3 - 5 years old)
  • Skating Aid - $8 each

Additional booking fee and credit card charges apply.

Helmets and ice skates are included in the ticket price

Available ice skates range from small children to a Men's size 13.

Terms & Conditions

  • Children under 10 years of age must wear a helmet (helmets are provided). Helmets are high recommended for all skaters.
  • Children under 5 years of age must be accompanied on the ice rink by an adult at all times.
  • Children under 3 years of age are not permitted on the ice rink under any circumstances.
  • Children 3 - 5 years of age MUST hire a Kanga Skating Aid and be accompanied on the ice by an adult at all times.

Corporate Skating Sessions

Each year a limited number of exclusive corporate ice skating sessions are available for purchase.

With exclusive use of the McDonald's Bathurst Ice Rink, corporate skating sessions are a great opportunity to host a staff social night, reward members or give back to clients.

Frequently Asked Questions

How old do I have to be to go ice skating?

You must be at least 3 years of age to skate on the ice.

Children under 5 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Children 3 - 5 years old are required to have a Skating Aid (included in Toddler ticket).

Do I need to wear a helmet to skate on the ice?

Children under 10 years of age MUST wear a helmet – Helmets are highly recommended for all skaters.

Helmets are provided at no extra charge, you do not need to bring your own helmet.

How long is one ice skating session?

Each ice skating session is 40 minutes long.

Can I purchase an ice skating ticket on the day?

Yes, ice skating tickets can be purchased on the day subject to availability. 

Please note that sessions often sell out, we recommend pre-purchasing your tickets.

How long before my session do I need to arrive?

It is recommended you arrive approximately 15 minutes before your session is due to begin. In this time, you will have your tickets checked, be fitted for ice skates and helmets, and skating aids will be allocated.

Do I need to bring my own ice skates?

You do not need to bring your own ice skates. Ice skates are provided as part of your ticket. If you do own your own skates, these are also permitted.

Will my session be cancelled if it is raining or due to poor weather?

The ice rink can operate in most weather conditions. Sessions will go ahead in rainy, wet conditions unless the Promotor deems it a risk to skaters. Ticket Holders are recommended to bring suitable outdoor clothing.

No refunds will be given due to inclement weather if your scheduled session proceeds. In the unlikely event that the Promoter deems it necessary to close the ice rink as a result of bad weather to ensure the safety of skaters, alternative sessions will be offered to Ticket Holders, subject to availability. Refunds will only be given if a session is cancelled by the Promoter being Bathurst Regional Council.

What do I need to bring?

Please ensure you arrive with your tickets either printed or accessible on a mobile device. Please provide proof of identity in the form of a driver’s license, passport or Proof of Age card.

It is also recommended the you bring suitable warm clothing as the rink is outdoors.

If I can no longer make my session, can I get a refund or reschedule my session?

You can make changes to your ticket booking up to 48 hours before your session is scheduled by contacting 123Tix on 1300 001 238. Any time after this, tickets are like those of a concert or other event and non-refundable and changes cannot be made. Please check carefully when making your booking.

No refunds or exchanges on any ticket except as required by and/or specified by the Entertainment Industry Code of Fair Practice. No refunds will be available for illness or injury. Incorrect purchases are NOT guaranteed a refund and are at the discretion of the promoter.

In the event the Event Organiser grants a refund, the refund will be minus all booking fees and credit card charges.

 

Ice Rink Accessibility

Are wheelchairs allowed on the ice?

Yes. Wheelchairs can be used on the ice at any time.

There are also reduced capacity, more wheelchair friendly sessions available throughout the festival. A list of these sessions will be made available closer to the festival.

Are carers of companion card holders allowed on the ice free of charge?

Yes. Companion Cardholder's support persons receive free entry upon presentation of a valid companion card. To book tickets with Companion Cards please call 123 Tix on (02) 6881 8632.

Are there sessions for people with special needs on the ice?

Yes.

Quiet sessions, designed to provide a low sensory ice skating experience with no music played, and reduced capacity sessions run throughout the festival. A list of these sessions will be made available closer to the festival.
