Festival Accessibility

The Bathurst Winter Festival welcomes everyone. Bathurst Regional Council is committed to making the Bathurst Winter Festival a safe, inclusive, accessible and enjoyable event for all, and we are constantly working on ways to improve our festival site and the experience for all.

Festival Site

The Bathurst Winter Festival is held across two parks located in the Bathurst CBD, the festival site is large, situated across approximately 15 acres.

Paths of travel are either grass parkland, gravel or bitumen road.

During peak periods the festival can be very crowded, including on Opening Night and Brew & Bite.

Parking

Designated accessible parking zones are located close to the event precinct near the main entrances.

The accessible parking areas are displayed on the festival map.

Access Ramps

Ramps are located near all accessible parking zones and throughout the festival allowing access to all areas of the event precinct.

Accessible Toilets

Unisex accessible toilets are available at the permanent toilet block located in Machattie Park.

Additional accessible portaloos will be available at key festival events, including Opening Night and Brew & Bite, located in Court House Lane.

The Marveloo Bathurst mobile accessible bathroom will also be available throughout the Festival. Marveloo Bathurst is fully accessible mobile toilet & changeroom, purpose built to the needs of people who require an accessible toilet with an overhead ceiling hoist and height adjustable adult change table. This is located at the rear of the Australian Fossil & Mineral Museum, approx. 100m from the Festival down Ribbon Gang Lane past the illumination.

Assistance Animals

Trained, registered and visibly identified assistance animals are welcome when accompanied by their handler.

Companion Cards

Complimentary tickets are available to companion persons upon presentation of a valid companion card at the time of purchase. See below for how to redeem complimentary tickets:

  • Ice Skating Tickets – Please call 123 Tix on (02) 6881 8632.
  • Ride Tickets – Present valid companion card at the onsite ticket box.
  • Kaleidoscope Tickets – Present valid companion card at the onsite ticket box.

Sensory Zone

A sensory zone will be located in the McDonald's Bathurst Ice Rink marquee throughout the festival. This area will have items to assist inviduals with sensory processing challenges including noise cancelling handphones. 

Our goal is to provide an inclusive experience for each patron to the Bathurst Winter Festival and strive to raise awareness of the needs and challenges faced by individuals with sensory processing challenges.

The Kaleidoscope mirror maze is wheelchair accessible with access ramps at both the entry and exit points.
