Road Closures

Several roads in the CBD of Bathurst will be temporarily closed for the Bathurst Winter Festival.

Taxi zones, disabled parking areas and general parking availability will also be affected. 

Russell Street

For the purpose of the McDonald’s Bathurst Ice Rink, a section of Russell Street will be closed between George and William Streets from 6.00 am Thursday 22 June until Saturday 22 July 2023. 

Temporary ‘No Parking’ signs will be in place along Russell Street by 3.00 pm on Wednesday 21 June. 

Pedestrian access will remain to the Civic Centre, Bathurst Court House and Historical Society building during this period. 

Vehicle access to Court House Lane for authorised vehicles only, including Emergency Services and Court House staff and limited Council staff will be managed by the Events Manager. Entry will be via George Street only.

Russell Street Taxi Zone 

The taxi zone located on Russell Street will be relocated to the existing Church Street taxi zone from 22 June – 22 July. 

There will be no access to the Church Street taxi zone on feature weekends of July. The taxi zone will be relocated to George Street, across from the Western Advocate on the 1, 2, 7, 8, 9, 15, 16 of July.

Russell Street Bus Zone

The bus zone located on Russell Street near the Court House will be relocated to a temporary bus zone on Russell Street between William and Bentinck Street.

Armada Opening Night – Saturday 1 July 2023

Church Street will be closed to all vehicle traffic on Saturday 2 July at 6.00am and reopen Monday 4 July at 7.00am.

An Illumination Light Walk through the streets of the CBD will mean increased foot traffic along William, Howick, George, Keppel & Havannah Streets. Caution is to be taken in these areas.

Accessibility Day – Thursday 6 July 2023

Additional Disabled Parking and a bus drop off zone will be installed on the Kings Parade side of Church Street between William and George Street between 6.00am – 9.00pm. 

Brew & Bite – Friday 7 July & Saturday 8 July 2023

Church Street will be closed to all vehicle traffic on Friday 7 July at 6.00am and reopen Monday 11 July at 7.00 am. 

Keppel Street between William and George Streets will be closed to all vehicle traffic on Friday 7 July at 6.00am and re-open Sunday 10 July at 7.00am.

Final Weekend - Saturday 15 July & Sunday 16 July 2023

For the installation of amusement rides Church Street will remain closed on Friday 14 July 6.00am and re-open Monday 17 July at 7.00am 

Scots Centre Car Park

Businesses and residents who use the car park behind the Scots Centre will have access into the car park via the gate next to the Post Office on Howick Street on 1, 2 ,7, 8, 9, 10, 14, 15 & 16 July.
